In addition to a large number of local gyms transitioning to online classes, the following apps and YouTube channels provide a variety of ways for people of all fitness levels to Be Active. Check them out now.

Gymshark

Gymshark is offering free workouts on its Gymshark Conditioning app – many of which need minimal equipment or use household objects, such as a chair. Whether you're wanting to tone your abs or get a full-body session done, these muscle workers are a surefire bet.

PureGym

Previously reserved only for members, but opening up its app for everyone. It features over 400 different workouts of various levels, classes and advice on-demand to help anyone maintain both physical and mental health during the next tricky few weeks. PureGym will also be running daily live workouts on its social media channels.

Freeletics

It focuses on bodyweight exercises—such as burpees, squats and sit-up variations—which are easy to do anywhere, anytime. It also provides personalized high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts with useful audio coaching to help you get fit fast.

JEFIT

Successful strength training requires smart program planning, and that’s where JEFIT shines. The free version of the app has a database of more than 1,300 exercises to help you plan the specifics of your weightlifting sessions and track total reps and weights used in the training log tracker. The log helps you keep tabs on your body composition changes as well as you track your weight, body fat percentage and more independently. You can even connect with fellow lifters. Sworkit

Tell Sworkit the type of workout you’re looking for (strength, cardio, yoga, or stretching) and the amount of time you’ve got (anywhere from five minutes to an hour), and the app delivers the moves to follow during your sweat session.

FIIT

Find your perfect flow. Whether it be Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, or Ashtanga this app has it all. Select the type of yoga you would like to perform, your experience level, and how much time you have, then settle in for your own personal session. Look out for the related Barre, HIIT and 7-minute workout apps too.

GOWOD

This app focuses on improving mobility in four areas: shoulders, hips, back, and ankles. Perform a mobility test when joining and then the app tailors the exercise to your specific need. A great way to counteract the impact of sitting for long periods of time.

The Body Coach TV

Joe Wicks, aka the Body Coach, has built a huge following by offering great home-based workouts with no equipment necessary. He is also streaming daily classes for children so it’s a great opportunity to get them to let off some steam and have fun!
