Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Opening Hymn
Heart of Jesus meek and mild
Hear O hear thy feeble child
When the tempest most severe
Heart of Jesus, hear Sweetly we’ll rest on thy Sacred Heart

O Heart of Jesus, Heart of Jesus hear
Please Kneel: Divine Jesus, You have said, “Ask and you shall receive; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you”, behold me kneeling at Your feet, filled with lively faith and confidence in the promises dictated by Your Sacred Heart and pronounced by Your adorable lips.
I come to ask this favor… (silently mention your petitions) To whom can I turn if not to You whose heart is the source of all graces and merits? Where should I seek if not in the treasure which contains all the riches of Your kindness and Your mercy? Where should I knock if not at the door through which God gives Himself to us and through which we go to God?
I have recourse to You Heart of Jesus. In You, I find consolation when afflicted, protection when persecuted, strength when burdened with trials, and light in doubt and darkness.
Dear Jesus, I firmly believe that You can grant me the grace I implore, even though it should require a miracle. You have only to will it, and my prayer will be granted. I admit that I am most unworthy of Your favors, but this is not a reason for me to be discouraged. You are a God of mercy and You will not refuse a contrite heart.
Cast upon me a look of mercy, I beg You, and Your kind Heart will find in my miseries and weaknesses a reason for granting my prayer.
O Sacred Heart, whatever may be Your decision with regard to my request, I will never stop adoring, loving, praising and serving You. My Jesus, be pleased to accept this act of perfect resignation to the decrees of Your adorable Heart which I sincerely desire may be fulfilled by me and all the Your creatures forever. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I know that there is but one thing impossible to You, to be without pity for those who are suffering or in distress. Look upon me, I beg You, dear Jesus, and grant me the grace for which I humbly implore You through the Immaculate Heart of Your most sorrowful Mother. You have entrusted me to her as her child, and her prayers are all-powerful with You. Amen.

Let us pray: Almighty Eternal God, look upon the heart of Your most beloved Son and upon the praises and satisfaction He offers You in the name of sinners and for those who seek Your mercy, be appeased and grant us pardon in the name of the same Jesus Christ Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit world without end. Amen.
Novena Prayer to Sto. Niño De Paz (Titular of Greenbelt Chapel)
Opening Prayer
O Divine Infant, after the wonders of Your birth in Bethlehem, You wish to extend Your infinite mercy to the whole world by calling the wise men by heavenly inspiration to Your crib, which was in this way changed into a royal throne.
You graciously received those holy men who were obedient to the divine call and hastened to Your feet. They recognized and worshipped You as Prince of Peace, the Redeemer of humankind, and the very Son of God.Show us Your goodness and almighty power. Enlighten our minds, strengthen our wills, and inflame our hearts to know You, to serve You, and to love You in this life, that we may merit to find our joy in You eternally in the life to come.
Jesus, most powerful Child, I implore You again to help me… (mention your request)
Jesus, Divine Child, Great Omnipotent God, I implore through Your most Holy Mother’s most powerful intercession, and through the boundless mercy of Your omnipotence as God, for a favorable answer to my prayer during this Novena. Grant me the grace of possessing You eternally with Mary and Joseph, and of adoring You with Your holy angels and saints. Amen.
Supplication
O Jesus, who has said, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened.” Through the intercession of Mary Your Most Holy Mother, I knock, I seek, I ask that my prayer be granted.O Jesus, who has said, “All that you ask of the Father in My Name, He will grant you,” through the intercession of Mary Your Most Holy Mother, I humbly and urgently ask Your Father in Your name that my prayer will be granted.
O Jesus, who has said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away but My word shall not pass away,” through the intercession of Mary, Your Most Holy Mother, I feel confident that my prayer will be granted…

Closing Prayer
O Jesus, Prince, and King of the Universe, You chose to humble Yourself and come into the world, not as a powerful ruler, but as a helpless Infant; grant us the grace of humility and gentleness before You and our brothers and sisters. Grant, too, O Lord, that we may always strive to achieve the virtues of Your own Holy Childhood. Instill in us a growing faith in You, O Lord, and the strength to resist temptation in a world which so widely rejects You. Look upon us with compassion and forgive us of our sins. Fill our hearts with kindness and understanding, especially for children, the aged and those we dislike or who dislike us.
O Jesus, who so loved children that You admonished us, “Unless you become like little children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven,” grant us a child-like faith and purity of heart.
Give us the grace not only to pray fervently but to help spread your Gospel in word and indeed.
May this novena transform our hearts and homes according to Your Most Holy will. And may our community here at Greenbelt Chapel, which invokes You as its Heavenly Benefactor, truly become a family of God---united in loving service, fervent in faith and strong in hope. May we strive to live out our role as peacemakers so that we may be worthy to be called children of God. Amen.
