The Roman Catholic Funeral Readings

Since I can't find a suggested Catholic Funeral Readings in the Philippines. The following are approved biblical readings for use at a Catholic funeral liturgy prepared by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). You can choose your preferred reading from each of the Old Testament, the Book of Psalms, the New Testament, and the Gospels. And you have to present to your parish priest when you meet him in person to make Funeral arrangements.

1. Funeral Liturgy for Adults

First Reading

• Readings from the Old Testament
• Readings from the New Testament during Easter Time

Responsorial Psalm

• All Psalms

Second Reading

(or First Reading when no Old Testament Readings are selected)

• Readings from the New Testament

Gospel

• Gospel Acclamations
• Gospels

2. Funeral Liturgy for Baptized Children

• Readings from the Old Testament (and New Testament during Easter Time)
• Responsorial Psalms
• Readings from the New Testament
• Gospel Acclamations
• Gospels

3. Funeral Liturgy for Children who Died before Baptism
