I enjoy working from home here in the province because it gives me more time with my family. During breaks, I can spend time with my son, talk with my wife, or simply be around them throughout the day. These are moments I would probably miss more often if I had to commute and work in the city every day.
Another thing I appreciate about living in the province is the lower cost of living. Groceries, especially fresh fruits and vegetables, are usually more affordable and often come directly from local farmers or markets. Since there are fewer malls, restaurants, and places that encourage unnecessary spending, it also becomes easier for us to manage our budget and save money.
Life here also feels much calmer compared to the city. In the mornings, instead of hearing traffic and loud noise, I usually wake up to birds, fresh air, and the sounds of nature. There’s more open space, more greenery, and less of the daily stress that usually comes with busy urban areas.
One thing I especially appreciate is not having to deal with daily traffic anymore. I don’t spend hours commuting to and from work, which saves both time and energy. Because of that, I usually feel less stressed and less exhausted at the end of the day.
Working from home in the province may not be the perfect setup for everyone, but for me, it has brought a quieter lifestyle, more quality time with family, and a healthier balance between work and personal life.
I still miss my work-from-home days in the province. Sometimes I think about the moments when I could go mountain biking to lose weight or spend time doing simple farm work. But there’s really not much I can do now that COVID restrictions have slowly been lifted and companies are calling employees back to the office. So yeah, it’s back to city life again.
