Bus terminals
Planning a trip to Nasugbu, Balayan, or Lemery in Batangas? Good news! If you're going via Tagaytay, I've got the details on where you can catch a bus.
Below, you'll find the specific bus terminals where you can hop on a ride. A handy tip: you can easily get off at Fora Rotunda Tagaytay if that's your stop.
Just a heads-up on the travel time: expect the journey to take about 2 to 3 hours. This can vary a bit depending on how heavy the traffic is, and also if the bus makes frequent stops to pick up more passengers along the way. Happy travels!
- South West Integrated Provincial Transport System (SWIPTS) Terminal otherwise know as the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) in Uniwide Coastal Mall, Pasay City. Choose from Lorna Express, DLTB Bus, San Agustin, Erjohn Almark, and BSC (Batman Starexpress Corporation). This should be closed already (read this news from UNTV News & Rescue and MMDA). But I included it because some passengers I met say they were still able to ride a bus here.
- HK Sun Plaza along Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard, Pasay City. Choose from Lorna Express, Erjohn Almark, and BSC (Batman Starexpress Corporation).
- BSC (Batangas Starexpress Corporation) Bus Terminal otherwise known as the Pasay Rotunda Transport Terminal in EDSA corner, Taft Avenue, Pasay City. Located behind McDonald's. Other notable establishments near this terminal are Dunkin’ Donuts, Chow King, and Sogo. Choose from San Agustin and BSC (Batman Starexpress Corporation). The fare as of May 18, 2019, is PHP 78.
- Buendia Bus Terminal near LRT Gil Puyat Station otherwise known as the Buendia LRT Station in Taft Avenue corner, Gil Puyat Avenue, San Isidro, Pasay City. Choose from DLTB, San Agustin, and Jam Transit.
Van Terminals
While buses are an option, if you're looking to save time, taking a van via Tagaytay could be your best bet!
Vans are often quicker because they tend to make fewer stops, shaving off some travel time. You'll find their terminals below, and just like with buses, you can ask to get off at Fora Rotunda Tagaytay if that's your destination.
The fares for these vans usually range from PHP180 to PHP200, which is a small price to pay for the time you'll save! Expect the travel time to be a zippy 1.5 to 2 hours.
- Van Terminal in front of EGI Mall (Jollibee) at the corner of Taft Avenue and Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue otherwise known as Buendia Avenue. I heard that there are vans going to Tagaytay from this mall until Olivarez Terminal only.
- Van Terminal in front of Starmall which is close to the MRT Shaw Boulevard Station at EDSA corner Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City. Only available during Saturday's and Sunday's.
- Van Terminal behind Jollibee and Kabayan Hotel near Metropoint Mall in EDSA corner, Taft Avenue, Pasay City. Walking distance from LRT EDSA Station and MRT Taft Avenue Station.
Where to ride a bus or van going back to Manila.
- Take note that there's no bus terminal in Tagaytay. Instead, you'll want to head to the area in front of the CARD MBA, Inc. building. This spot is just a few steps away from McDonald's, and it's where buses regularly stop to pick up passengers. These buses are usually headed towards Lawton, Baclaran, or Pasay. As for the fare, back on May 19, 2019, it was around PHP 78 to Baclaran from this stop. Make sure to have small bills ready!
- If you're looking for another way to head towards Pasay, there's also an alternative! You can go to the Van Terminal located in Olivares Terminal. This is another popular spot where you can catch a van directly to Pasay. It's great if you prefer vans or if it's more convenient for your starting point in Tagaytay.
