The town of Quezon may be one of the younger municipalities in Nueva Vizcaya, but its roots run deep in community spirit and progress.

The municipality was officially created on June 18, 1961, through Republic Act No. 4327. Just two years later, on November 12, 1963, the people of Quezon made history by participating in a plebiscite and electing their first set of local leaders—marking the beginning of Quezon’s journey as a self-governing district.

Five years after that, Quezon was recognized as a full-fledged municipality. At the time of its creation, the town was made up of six original barangays: Baresbes, Caliat, Buliwao, Darubba, Maddiangat, and Nalubbanan.

As the community grew, so did its number of barangays. On November 12, 1967, five more were established: Massin, Calaocan, Bonifacio, Aurora, and Runruno. Later on, in 1979, Barangay Dagupan became the newest and final addition—bringing the total to 12 barangays.
