Before it became a thriving town, Diadi was once just a barangay of Bagabag. But that all changed in the mid-1960s.

On February 28, 1966, then-Congressman Leonardo B. Perez filed House Bill No. 182, seeking to create a new municipal district for the growing community. The proposal gained traction and was soon supported through Committee Report No. 54. A year later, in May 1967, Senator John Osmeña Jr. recommended its approval via Committee Report 1053.

Finally, on June 17, 1967, both chambers of Congress approved Republic Act 4973, officially giving birth to the Municipality of Diadi.

Since then, Diadi has continued to grow, now consisting of 19 barangays, each contributing to the town’s vibrant identity and progress.

Every June 15 to 17, Diadi throws its grandest celebration—the Ragragsakan Festival. The word “Ragragsakan” perfectly captures the joyful, festive spirit of the event.

The celebration kicks off with parades, playground demonstrations, and a lively People’s Night where the community gathers to enjoy music, performances, and camaraderie.

One of the main highlights is “Libnos ti Diadi”, an annual cultural presentation that reflects the town’s traditions and creativity. There's also open dance competitions, sports tournaments, and cultural showcases, all proudly representing the town’s heritage.

Each barangay gets the chance to shine by displaying their best agricultural products, turning the festival into a mini trade fair of local abundance. On top of that, fun parlor games—often led by the town’s energetic officials and the ever-active Sangguniang Kabataan (SK)—bring joy to kids and families alike.

Whether you're there for the culture, the competition, or just the good vibes, Diadi's Ragragsakan Festival is a celebration of how far this once-small barangay has come—and a beautiful reminder of what a united community can achieve.
