Last month, I signed up for a one-month free trial of the Feedspot Gold Plan through PayPal. I knew that if I didn't cancel by July 29, 2019, I'd be automatically charged ₱799.00 every month.
As my trial date got closer, I went to my Feedspot dashboard to cancel—but I couldn't find a cancellation link anywhere. It was incredibly frustrating! I didn't give up there, though. I checked my PayPal account to see if I could stop the payment from that end, and luckily, I found a way. If you're in the same boat, don't worry—there's a fix.
Here's the workaround:
1. Log in to your PayPal account
2. Click on the Cog icon and click the Payments tab and to view and update all your subscriptions and automatic payments click Manage automatic payments button. A new window will pop up where you can view all your active and inactive subscriptions.
3. Now click on Feedspot[dot]com then on the right side click the Cancel button.
Another window will open just click Cancel Automatic Payments button.
4. After clicking Cancel Automatic Payments a window will open saying "You're good to go, You successfully canceled your automatic payments to Feedspot[dot]com..." just Click the Done button. The status now should be INACTIVE and to check this click the radio button Show inactive.
5. You will receive an email shortly from PayPal with a subject "Your recurring payment has been canceled".
Here's the sample email message:
Hello "Your Name",
You successfully canceled the following recurring payment. PayPal will no longer bill you. If you did not request this cancellation, contact PayPal Customer Support toll-free at 1-888-221-1161.
Note: Cancelling this payment with PayPal may not relieve you of the obligation to complete your contract with your merchant. You should notify your merchant directly about cancelling this payment.
